Yesterday, security operatives who were led by the Attorney general  and Commissioner for Justice Barr Kaka Shehu Lawan and commissioner for Land and survey  Borno state Hon. Sugun Mai Mele and other Borno state officials arrested some men and women in Galadima area of Maiduguri, Borno state capital. Those arrested were said to have been caught selling illegal drugs, alcohol,  cigarettes and also dead dog and donkey meat despite the guest houses in the area  already demolished. The suspects were taking into custody by the operatives  of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS).

A famous snake handler, known as the ‘ snake whisperer’ has died after being bitten by a deadly cobra. Abu Zarin, whose skills saw him progress to the quarter finals of Asia’s Got Talent, was attacked by the reptile in Betong, Malaysia. The 33-year-old was a firefighter who taught his colleagues how to capture dangerous snakes without harming them. He also wowed TV audiences by showing how to ‘kiss’ the venon-filled reptiles. It is not the first time he had been bitten by a cobra – The Star in Malaysia reports that he went into a coma back in 2015. The fatal bite happened shortly before 8pm on Monday, and he died at the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital. The reports, which were inaccurate, alleged that he believed the snake to be his ‘reincarnated’ girlfriend. It was subsequently picked up by media all over the world. In the aftermath he said, the BBC reports: “They used my photos and started making up stories, saying that I married a snake.”

A Mexican name who was named the worlds heaviest, who once tipped the scales at 1302lbs is showing off his 551lb weight-loss. Juan Pedro Franco, 33 was declared the heaviest person alive by the Guinness World Records in 2017. But now after two gastric band surgeries and a strict exercise regime he has reduced his weight to under a 1000lbs and one day dreams of standing again. Since he started just over a year ago he has shed 551lbs which is the equivalent of a silverback gorilla. However, Franco’s ultimate aim is to be able to walk again after years of being combined to his bedroom. Franco first made headlines in November 2016 when he was admitted to the clinic after making the trip via a specially-adapted van to the western city of Guadalajara, Jalisco. At the time, Castaneda said Mr Franco’s obesity and related conditions, including diabetes, had made the operation impossible and he needed to lose weight. An intending bride has reportedly called off her wedding after she was allegedly humiliated and assaulted by her man in public. According to an online report, the lady was left embarrassed after her fiance poured water on her face and clothes in an eatery because he was angry. Now, the report has it that the lady has called off the wedding which is supposed to hold next month and is strongly standing by her decision. Olajumoke Fayemi shared the story on Facebook. In a bid to rid the nation of the infamous activities of the Wonder Banks Operators, popularly known as the Ponzi scheme, the Ibadan Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested twenty-seven suspected operators of illegal financial institutions. The suspects who were raided and arrested from different locations within Ibadan, Oyo State includes Olayeni Oladokun Samuel, Managing Director of Unlimited Grace Investment Limited and ten members of his staff, Chris N. Igbinake of Grooming Centre and four of his staff and Akanbi Oluwakemi of Grace & Mercy Households Improvement Initiative and four of her staff. Others include staffers of Sobic Financial & Investment Consultant. They are Awokunle Olukemi, Sikiru Obadara, Olasunkanmi Michael, Adeoti Adegboyega, Oyewusi Esther and Ojekunle Victor Olukayode.
